Hung Symbol
This symbol is probably the most popular of the various Tibetan symbols. It was taken from the ancient Tibetan prayer or mantra, ‘Om Mani Padme Hum’ or ‘Om Mani Padme Hung.’ Translated, this means ‘Hail to the Jewel in the Lotus.’ It is believed that everything essential that Buddha taught are contained in this mantra, which is indicative of the path to transform one’s impure mind and body into the pure, exalted speech and mind of Buddha through detachment. Needless to say, it is a quite powerful mantra and symbol, which can purify body, speech and mind.

Revealing facts about Hinduism Religion
Hindu Symbols
As Hinduism is the oldest religion on the earth, it has more numbers of symbols than other religions. Each Hindu symbol has a different meaning and is used on different occasions. Hinduism symbols are also used as body tattoos in the Western countries as well as in India. Hinduism signs and symbols are very popular in India and are also known as Indian symbols. We are providing here a comprehensive list of major Hindu symbols and their meanings.
Aum, also known as, Om, is the most important symbol in Hinduism. It is made up of three Sanskrit letters namely A, U, and M and is written as No. 3 with a curved line like a tail going out from the center on the back side of three with a moon-shaped curve and a dot above 3. All the major Hindu mantras start with Aum. Aum represents Brahman, the Almighty. You would understand the importance of this symbol by this only. It is the sound heard at the time of creation of universe.
It is considered as sacred and is worn in pendants, rings, printed on T-shirts, cups, temple walls.
Swastika is the second most important Hindu symbol. Swastika looks like the Nazi symbol. The only difference is Nazi symbol is tilted as if standing on one point while the Hindu symbol seems as if standing on a horizontal branch. The word Swastika can be broken as Su+Asti+ka where Su means good and Asti means “it really is” and “ka” makes the word a noun. That means “Everything is good.”
Swastika is also considered to be sacred and represents luck and prosperity. A swastika is drawn on Kalash at the time of Hindu rituals. It is also used in pendants and printed on walls of the Hindu temples.
Tilak is a vertical sign made by kumkum on the forehead exactly between two eyebrows of a Hindu male. This is used mainly at the time of rituals or any religious ceremonies like weddings, birthdays, Munj, etc.
Lingam is the representation of Lord Shiva through which Lord Shiva is worshipped mostly. The lingam is also called Shivling, Ling. It is a vertical cylindrical pillar surrounded by a nearly completely round object with an opening on the right side which stretches out to some length.
The interpretation of this Hindu symbol is controversial as some people believe that it is a union of the Linga of Shiva and Yoni of Shakti while others believe that it represents the infinite nature of Shiva. Most of the Hindus worship Lord Shiva in the form of a lingam instead of an idol of Lord Shiva.
Trishul is a weapon with three points residing on a long rod with outer two points curved at the end and the middle point straight and sharply pointed.
Trishul is the main weapon of Lord Shiva which he always carries with himself and is highly revered in Hinduism.
A bindi is a small rounded sign made with Kumkum between the two eyebrows of a married Hindu woman. Though unmarried girls also use the sign but they do not use Kumkum for that.
A kalash is a vessel with five green leaves placed at the entrance of the vessel in such a way that they cover the entrance of the vessel and then a coconut placed on top.
Yantra actually means a machine but when it is used as a Hindu symbol, it looks like a geometry figure. These are simple as well as complex figures. Sometimes numbers are written on it. If placed at a desired place, they are believed to have good effects on the life of the possessor.
The saffron-colored flag is the official flag of Hinduism. It looks like two partial triangular waves connected to each other in the middle and flat at the other end. Saffron color represents sacrifice and renunciation of materialism.
Rudraksha is a tree whose seeds are traditionally used by Hindus for medicinal as well as spiritual purpose. Rudraksha is a dark-brown colored seed with some linings on it. Rudraksha is believed to be of 1 to 108 faces. One-faced Rudraksha is scarcely available.
The flower of lotus is of great importance in Hinduism. It represents culture and politeness. You will see lotus in the hands of some important Hindu deities such as Lord Ganesha and some goddesses. A main Hindu deity Brahma is always shown sitting in the big lotus. The flower of lotus is used in some Hindu rituals.
Shankha is used both as a symbol and as a trumpet in Hindu rituals. Shankha is a sea shell which is kept inside Hindu altars and worshiped. Shankha is an emblem of Hindu God, Lord Vishnu. Shankha is a symbol of longevity and prosperity for Hindus.
In ancient times, Shankha was used as a trumpet before the start of the war.
Dharmachakara, means the Wheel of Dharma, represents Hindu Dharma or law. This wheel has eight spokes to it.
You will always find this lamp near the Hindu altar and/or in Hindu temples. Hindus believe that a lamp should always be lit near the Hindu deities. Many cultural and social functions in India are opened with lighting the lamps by chief guests. This lamp symbolizes the light and hence is sacred.
Banyan tree is a Hindu symbol of longevity. It is not only a Hindu symbol but also is national tree of India. Hindu married women worship this tree on Vat Pournima and tie a white thread around it asking for the longevity for their husbands.
Nandi is a bull which is also the carrier of Lord Shiva. A nandi is always found in front of a Shivlinga. It is a symbol of Lord Shiva. It represents strength and fertility.
Shri or Sri is another most important symbols of Hindus. Shri represents auspiciousness. It also is one of the names of Lord Ganesha. Shri is added before the names of Hindu males as Mr. is added in English. It is used as short form of Shriman in this regard. It is also a symbol of Devi Laxmi.
Lord Ganesha is an important demi-God of Hindus but he is also used as a symbol many times. This symbol represents auspiciousness as Ganesh is known as remover of obstacles. Lord Ganesha is worshiped first of all demi-Gods. Hindus wear Ganesha symbol as a pendant or print his pictures in the house. Some people use metal rings on which Ganesha is carved.
Kamandalu is an oblong vessel mainly used by ascetics who live in forests and do meditation. It is a symbol of asceticism. It is mainly used to store water. It looks like a Kalash but it is different from it.
Cow is the most sacred animal for Hindus. It is considered as a very poor animal. Cow is a symbol of good nature, purity, motherhood, and prosperity.
21. Sudarshan Chakra: Sudarshan Chakra is a weapon as well as a symbol of Lord Vishnu. It is considered as the most lethal weapon. It is circular in shape like a flat disc and is toothed as a saw around the circumference.
22. Veena: Veena is a musical stringed instrument of Goddess Saraswati but it is also a Hindu symbol of art and education. It is also associated with Dev Rishi Narad.
Paduka actually means footwear, the wooden slippers wore by saints and Hindu deities. Laxmi Paduka is the symbol of wealth. The footprints of Hindu deities and saints are also called as Paduka and are worshiped as a symbol of that deity.
The peacock feather is the symbol of Lord Krishna as he used to wear a feather in his crown. Sometimes, a flute with peacock feather is depicted as the symbol of Lord Krishna.
25. Symbols of a married Hindu woman: Hindu women wear some ornaments as a symbol of marriage including but not limited to Mangalsutra (the sacred thread), bangles, Jodawe (a silver ring wore in the toe), ear-rings, nose-rings, etc. These symbols vary according to the region. Different things are used as symbol of marriage in different parts and societies in India. Besides those, Hindu married women apply Kumkum between the two eyebrows and on the center of the head.
Sun is considered as a deity by Hindus and is also a symbol of light and truthfulness. Sun worship is still prevalent in Hinduism. People offer water to the sun in the morning.
Snake is a symbol of rebirth as it casts its skin after a period of time. Lord Shiva always wears a cobra around his neck and Lord Vishnu rests on a snake named Sheshnaga.

good work.keep it up.
That really helped me, thank you so very much… (but in my head im thinking YEA YEA HAA that really helped with my homework)
kindly write the names of lord mahadev ganas,
I was taught by my father on a trip to India that the Swastika also has four dots and can only be found on the entrances of Hindu Temples. It means as he explained “Good Luck”.
Sawstik and ohm equally important…
Plz correct that.
No, Om represents supreme god Brahman. So, it has got more importance.
Hund's Rules
1. The term with maximum multiplicity lies lowest in energy
Note: Some references, such as Haken & Wolf, use Hund's Rule #1 to apply to the nature of full shells and subshells. Full shells and subshells contribute nothing to the total angular momenta L and S. If you call this Hund'e Rule #1, then the above rules will be bumped up one in number. I don't know which is the more common practice.
Hund's Rule #1
The term with the maximum multiplicity lies lowest in energy.
These sketches are conceptual only. No attempt has been made to do any realistic scaling.
Note that the energies we are discussing here are electric potential energies, so that a negative electron in the vicinity of a positive nucleus will have a negative energy leading to a bound state. Any force between the electrons will tend to counter that, contributing a positive potential energy which makes the electrons less tightly bound, or higher in potential energy.
Hund's Rule #2
For a given multiplicity, the term with the largest value of L lies lowest in energy.
The basis for this rule is essentially that if the electrons are orbiting in the same direction (and so have a large total angular momentum) they meet less often than when they orbit in opposite directions. Hence their repulsion is less on average when L is large.
These influences on the atomic electron energy levels is sometimes called the orbit-orbit interaction. The origin of the energy difference lies with differences in the coulomb repulsive energies between the electrons.
For large L value, some or all of the electrons are orbiting in the same direction. That implies that they can stay a larger distance apart on the average since they could conceivably always be on the opposite side of the nucleus. For low L value, some electrons must orbit in the opposite direction and therefore pass close to each other once per orbit, leading to a smaller average separation of electrons and therefore a higher energy.
Hund's Rule #3
For atoms with less than half-filled shells, the level with the lowest value of J lies lowest in energy.
When the shell is more than half full, the opposite rule holds (highest J lies lowest). The basis for the rule is the spin-orbit coupling. The scalar product S·L is negative if the spin and orbital angular momentum are in opposite directions. Since the coefficient of S·L is positive, lower J is lower in energy.
Exceptions to Hund's Rules
Hund's rules presume L-S coupling and presume that the electrons can be considered to be in a unique configuration. Neither is always true. For heavier elements, the "j-j coupling" scheme often gives better agreement with experiment.

how to work this pls explain the way
My computer cannot display some of the latest Unicode symbols I need. I tried downloading and extracting the latest Unicode data files from the Unicode web site, but it has no effect on the characters my computer can display or type. How can I display and type the latest Unicode characters?
****your application doesn't support Unicode properly (though most do)
If you need to install a font to resolve the problem, free fonts can be downloaded for many Unicode ranges. See Font Resources, or search in your browser for the name of the font you need. Fonts typically cover only one script, or sometimes a range of scripts. Often fonts haven't been updated to render the most recent additions to the Unicode character set. See also Display Problems?
These are not Alt- codes this is Hex coding, which is completely different. Did nobody notice that you can't make an &, # or a F capital while holding down the Alt key?
wow its very cool
good is the dog
Where is the OWL ?
it doesn't work for word. what should i do?
You can just copy+paste aka command C to copy, and command V to paste.
If something that needs to be poured in bleach and comes near me i'm getting out my bible ††††† and gonna hug my cat in terror
do any of you know alt codes for dragons
how do you do the (&#;Fx).
I like the wolf and tiger on Mope.oi Game Just simply click the picture and Drag into the name box
I use the beautiful copy and paste! IT IS AWESOME
Thank you "Sam", I tried your way and it worked!
why do they contain letters in the codes
These are HTML codes. They work when creating web pages in HTML.
What program does this work in. I tried Word and some of the codes worked but I got a different symbol than showed in this chart. Some did not work at all. I typed in code, held Alt, pressed x. Is this correct
I love it! Works for me!
I can't see the unicorn face.
Can I do a flower? With what code?
I use it for robox.
it doesn't work on MSP aka MovieStarPlanet . useless do more i love the dog and unicorn but now I'm upset it doesn't work ☹
The way these work is you first write down the code, such as 1F400 for the rat, then hold down Alt and push X. (Doesn't seem to work in this forum tho but it does elsewhere.)
It doesn't work in excel
why would you play that garbage game anyway
doesn't work on movestarplanet
There is a bird. xD
this is so cool but do you have to push " alt "?
I program in C #, and none of these characters are not supported in any version of the .NET Framework.
It's a shame they would be great in my project :(
I wish there was a bird
these emojis are really really really cool !! thx guys
I don't know how it go
why dosnt' it work
It glitches when I try ☹

First select the symbol then you can drag&drop or just copy&paste it anywhere you like.
Alt-Codes can be typed on Microsoft Operating Systems:
- First make sure that numlock is on,
- Then press and hold the ALT key,
- While keeping ALT key pressed type the code for the symbol that you want and release the ALT key.
Unicode codes can not be typed. Codes can be used within HTML, Java..etc programming languages. To use them in facebook, twitter, textbox or elsewhere just follow the instructions at top.
Box and Arrow Orbital Configurations using
Pauli Exclusion Principle and Hund's Rule
There is yet another way to writing electron configurations. It is called the "Box and Arrow" (or circle and X) orbital configuration.
Sublevels can be broken down into regions called "orbitals". An orbital is defined as the most probable location for finding an electron. Each orbital holds 2 electrons.
This sublevel configuration can be broken down into orbitals (boxes).
1s 2 2s 2 2p 6 3s 2 3p 6 4s 2 3d 10 4p 6 .
Video below on how the sublevels build.
There are a few rules for the box and arrow configurations.
Aufbau Principle - electrons fill orbitals starting at the lowest available energy state before filling higher states (1s before 2s).
Pauli Exclusion Principle
An orbital can hold 0, 1, or 2 electrons only, and if there are two electrons in the orbital, they must have opposite (paired) spins.
When we draw electrons, we use up and down arrows. So, if an electron is paired up in a box, one arrow is up and the second must be down.
(Therefore, no two electrons in the same atom can have the same set of four Quantum Numbers . )
incorrect; electrons must spin in opposite directions
correct; the electrons have opposite spins
When filling sublevels other than s, electrons are placed in individual orbitals before they are paired up.
Electrons fill like people do on a bus. You would never sit right next to someone you did not know if there are free seats available, unless of course all the seats are taken then you must pair up.
So when working with the p sublevel, electrons fill like this. up, up, up. down, down, down. take a look
Hvid symbolik

Term Symbols
The heirarchy of labels for the electrons of multi-electron atoms is configuration, term, level, and state.
The term uses the multiplicity 2S + 1, total orbital angular momentum L, and total angular momentum J. It assumes that all the spins combine to produce S, all the orbital angular momenta couple to produce L, and then the spin and orbital terms combine to produce a total angular momentum J. The angular momentum symbol follows the spectroscopic notation scheme.
Different terms will in general have different energies, and the order of those energies is usually that given by Hund's Rules, although there are exceptions. The different terms for a given configuration are obtained by forming the different combinations of angular momenta for the electrons outside closed shells, making sure the Pauli Exclusion Principle is obeyed.
The Symbolism of Foo Dog Tattoos
/2270910038_6efce9f29f_o-58029bf43df78cbc282d366f.jpg)
Always depicted in pairs to represent both yin and yang, Foo Dogs, also known as protective lions, symbolize both prosperity and success as well as guardianship. If you want a unique tattoo design that is rich in both Asian history and symbolism, a Foo Dog may be for you.
Is It a Lion or a Dog?
Purely mythical, a Foo Dog is often called a protective lion which can be confusing. Is the design a canine or a feline and what is the origin of this mysterious creature?
The word "Fo" originates from China and it means Buddha. In addition to Foo, these Asian dogs have also been named the "Lion of Korea." Depending on the culture, there are many different stories about the guardianship of these mythical animals and of course their purpose. The legend behind the Foo Dog is that their sole mission was to keep watch over Buddhist temples. Because of their protective association, many people bear the Foo for personal safety, whereas others may even place the Foo around their homes for an added sense of security.
In addition to the more modern approach of a Foo tattoo, the dogs have been depicted in statues and paintings since 208 BC until around 221 AD. Because the Foo's appearance resembles that of a lion, their name is sometimes freely interchanged. Today, an authentic dog breed that looks like a lion may include the ever protective and loyal Chow Chow breed.
In the Buddhist religion, the lion is considered sacred and is often sacrificed in an offering to the Buddha. They represent both peace and calm and can offer a sense of this to anyone who bears their mark.
Although the primary symbolism of the Food Dog is protection, they can also represent happiness and energy and value.
When paired together the mischievous appearance of these dogs creates a playful design that can also be tranquil. Although originating in China, Foo Dogs are appreciated and loved all over the world. Today the Foo Dog can be found on artwork, statues and other goods that may benefit from the protection of such an honorable and noble beast.
Other Symbols of Luck and Protection
If you want a tattoo design with similar representation, there are many other symbols in addition to a Foo Dog tattoo that can be worn to bring about both protection and good fortune. Luck and protection talismans make wonderful tattoos since you can wear them for eternity and always feel their presence. If you want to keep with the Japanese theme, why not consider a Koi fish tattoo? Symbolizing strength, a Koi travels up the Yellow River in hopes to transform into a mighty dragon.
Some people opt for cross or Pagan tattoos for protection, but there is also dream catcher tattoos, the numbers seven and thirteen, and dandelion tattoos that may symbolize both hope and wishes.
Where Should I Place My Foo Dog Tattoo?
If you're ready to ink the noble symbol of good luck and fortune, make sure you place it where you can enjoy it.
Remember that Foo Dogs must travel in pairs. Because the Foo Dogs are very detailed, you'll also need to ensure your tattoo is of the right size so that the design can be appreciated.
For tattoo placement, consider placing a Foo Dog on the arms, legs or outer thigh. Some people even place one Foo Dog tattoo on each side of their chest. There are many other scenes that can be created with the dogs. Adding bamboo in the background of your design is sure to add even more luck.
Tattoo artist selection is always important, but especially so with such a prominent and detailed piece. The tattoo pictured above was created by tattoo artist James Vaughn, a contestant on SPIKE TV's Season One of Ink Master. Beautiful and colorful and filled with promise, may the wearer of these honorable and majestic dogs have a lifetime of blessed fortune and happiness!
