POPek Red 120 cm and 50 cm

POPek – the squatting balloon dog statue.

POPek the limited edition squatting balloon dog stands proudly contrary to what is usual, while breaking common conventions of modern design. This unique larger-than-life (at 4 feet tall) artwork made entirely of fiberglass has a rich glossy finish making it eye catching and impossible to miss.

The purpose of the artwork is to stimulate inspiration, unleash creativity and evoke a sense of wonder by changing common patterns of thinking. The ordinary object turns into unexpected and unorthodox. The artwork is meant to refresh viewer’s mind and wash off the boredom of everyday life.

The large (120cm) red version of the statue is available at limited editions of 10 worldwide.

The large (120cm) pink version of the statue is available at limited editions of 5 worldwide.

The 50 cm tall POPek is available in Red (50 editions), Pink (30 editions) and Black (30 editions)

Artwork will be available in three sizes. The largest is 120cm tall (price on request at him@whatshisname.co.uk).

All The Things I Am

Happy Anniversary Sweden!

This post will be a very short one, a mini-post. It just popped out of my mind that I arrived in Stockholm on January 31st , 2007. Excatly five years ago. Incredible! So, I would just like to congratulate myself for having endured five long crazy years in this very peculiar country.

What happened during those years?

I lived in Sollentuna, Högdalen, Bandhagen and live now in Södermalm.

I worked at four exciting places. Among them, the Royal Court Theatre of Drottningholm has become my second home. I studied Swedish A and B, Photography and Desktopp publishing in four schools and went back to university again to learn everything about communication and social media.

My summer house, Drottningholm Theater

I travelled as often as I could: Tallinn, Paris, Dalecarlia, England and Scotland. Got amazing memories of the Hebrides Islands, Iona, Staffa and Mull, Jämtland and Härjedalen, Lille, Rögrund in the middle of Stockholm´s Archipelago, Oslo and MADAGASCAR !

I took contemporary dance lessons at Balettakademin with Sara Regina Fonseca the best and the sweetest teacher I have ever known, coming from Colombia, I sang in a little choir at Folkkulturcentrum, I bought myself a bike and did ride on it. A first-time thing, I flew in a hot-air ballon. Exhilarating!

Here is the view on Stockholm from the hot-air balloon. Weren´t we lucky?

And now I go to yoga sometimes when I don´t feel stressed, which is really stupid, because yoga is supposed to take off your stress when you feel stressed. I should go when I am really stressed. “Comprenne qui peut”.

What else ? Yes, I am so blessed a woman who has met Beautiful people. It is just fabulous how many friends I made, real friends, so this post is dedicated to all of you.

And I Got Married …in my garden!

See ! One can be happy even in Sweden.
